Pepper Bak Kut Teh @ Sek Me Choy

So, one of the weekdays somewhere last week me and fellow colleagues decided to drive out to have lunch as we are freaking bored of eating in Mid Valley over the years. And since the guys are driving, so why not right?

Yes! We had Pepper Bak Kut Teh for lunch! Something new right? In fact that is their signature dish. I personally love the soup but some might not like the peppery taste or find it weird even haha! According to my colleagues the pork is awesome because I did not taste it as the whole world knows, or most people who knows me for the longest time that they labeled me as HALAL. Yes, I am a pure Chinese but I have never taken pork in my life. That's a known fact about me. LOL

Next dish is something that I ordered which is the mini long beans fried with salted eggs. Yes! You read me. Salted eggs! It's extremely yummy! This is the first time I have seen such a special dish and I don't see it elsewhere. Or perhaps some of you tasted something similar like this anywhere? Do let me know!

Another dish that we ordered was the ginger chicken. Personally I am not really a chicken fan but this is really good stuff especially the gravy!

Finally, their very own home-made Teochew dessert to complete our meal! It's a yam and pumpkin dessert. Apparently they need to steam it for 3 hours before serving it to customers. This is one of their must-try item on their menu!

Overall, the food is awesome and reasonably priced but then again it is a very individual thing when it comes to the taste of food and pricing.

So by now, some of you might be curious to know where can you find those delicious dishes. They have 2 branches.
